Kicked In The Rear....!!!!

I don't know what I am going to right today. However, I feel this need to write something. I am shocked, I am angry, I am a lot of things, but it doesn't really matter. All this is because, as my title says, Life Has Kicked Me In The Rear. A year's hard work has gone waste. I don't know what I did wrong. And I know that I deserved more than what I got. (I am talking about my SSC results) Everyone knew that. But then they say, with hard work, you also need luck. It rarely happens that this luck is not with someone, and it happened with me. I am crying foul, but its of no use. You may find me defending my marks, and putting the whole blame on the system, and you may be thinking that I am a coward to do that. But believe me I am not. I introspected and introspected before I put the blame on lady luck. And I found nothing lacking in my efforts. As my results came in, I felt this dissatisfaction about my marks. Not because I had got less, but because I had deserved more. But God has his plans, and I am a firm believer that whatever happens, happens for good. I learnt a lesson that day, which everyone will learn, sooner or later in life- Even if you work hard, you don't always get the reward. I opened my Gmail account, and there lay a mail by my father which was perfect for me, and I needed it at that instant. I don't know whether you'll have read it but I am pasting it-

One day I decided to quit...
I quit my job, my relationship, my spirituality...... I wanted to quit my life.
I went to the woods to have one last talk with God.
"God", I asked, "Can you give me one good reason not to quit?"
His answer surprised me...
"Look around", He said.
"Do you see the fern and the bamboo?"
"Yes", I replied.
"When I planted the fern and the bamboo seeds, I t
ook very good care of them.
I gave them light.

I gave them water.
The fern quickly grew from the earth.

Its brilliant green covered the floor.
Yet nothing came from the bamboo seed. But I did not quit on the bamboo.
In the second year the Fern grew more vibrant and plentiful.
And again, nothing came from the bamboo seed. But I did not quit on the bamboo. He said.
"In year three there was still nothing from the bamboo seed.
But I would not quit.
In year four, again, there was nothing from the bamboo seed. I would
not quit." He said..
"Then in the fifth year a tiny sprout emerged from the earth. Compared
to the fern it was seemingly small and insignificant...But just 6
months later the bamboo rose to over 100 feet tall.

It had spent the five years growing roots
. Those roots made it strong and gave it what it needed to survive.
I would not give any of my creations a challenge it could not handle."
He asked me. "Did you know, my child, that all this time you have been struggling, you have actually been growing roots".
"I would not quit on the bamboo.
I will never quit on you."
"Don't compare yourself to others.."
He said.
"The bamboo had a different Purpose than the fern.

Yet they both make the forest beautiful."
"Your time will come", God said to me.

"You will rise high"

"How high should I rise?"

I asked.
"How high will the bamboo rise?" He asked in return.
"As high as it can?" I questioned.
"Yes." He said, "Give me glory by rising as high as you can."
I left the forest and brought back this story.
I hope these words can help you see that God will never give up on you.
Never, Never, Never Give up.

This came at a perfect time for me. And it just gave me the will to go on. After all, life is full of ups and downs. I gave the first test of life, and I went down. Which means that I can only go up now!!!!!

  2. On reading the title, I had a feeling that you had probably vented out all your feelings of anger, frustration and sadness in this post.....but after reading it, I'm so glad, that your dad sent you this forward and I'm happier still that you have put it up here. It will motivate all those who read it.

You truly have a great dad who is there to motivate you when you really need it and I'm happy to know that you haven't allowed this situation to dampen your spirit and your will power to accept life's challenges with a smile.Keep going!

If you ask me what I make of this entire situation,I'll say one thing......I know you are a good and hard-working student and I don't need the marks to prove that to me. It's true, that the system requires the marks to prove your worth and to get into a good college; but I think the true worth of a person cannot be determined by his performance in an exam, and to me, you are a star, despite your marks.......So, keep up the positive spirit, accept the challenge with determination and aim for the stars.Let nothing or no one stop you. Like your parents and your sis, I too believe in you.
